Hostage Situation in Colorado School

Once again, there is a hostage situation in a Colorado school--it's about 40 miles from Denver (about the same distance from Columbine). It started at noon mountain time.

There appear to be 2-4 hostages (others have been released). The 35-yr old guy seems to have asked a teacher for something and didn't get it and started taking hostages and shooting, but it appears (hopefully) that no one is hurt. The guy also says he has a bomb. They've been evacuating busloads full of students--about 450 in that school. But a bunch of students that didn't get evacuated have just gotten out of the school from a service door and are running away from the building.

Please keep these kids in your thoughts. I'm afraid we're going to have Columbine all over again.

Honestly, I don't know what the world is coming to these days!!

I have several opinions, but I will refrain from getting on my soapbox today. It is just so sad that we have become so desensitized to violence and human life is not sacred anymore.

My heart and prayers go out to all those involved in today's tragedy.

Sounds like the guy who came in has done this over some kind of custody dispute!

Gunman is dead.

News report a few minutes ago said no one thought to be harmed. Hope they don't uncover any tragedy as they search the school grounds further.

One hostage is critically injured and was life flighted to a trauma center. The gunman is dead.

What is with people today? I don't get it....

Kind of like these Dateline shows where the guys KNOW there's a chance of getting caught, but they still try to pull that crap....

She died a little while after she got to the hospital. (She's a twin--I can't even imagine how much harder it will make it for her parents.) Thank goodness the guy killed himself--no need to waste the taxpayers money trying him! But they still don't know who he is.

That was completely messed up! No excuse what so ever to end such a vibrant young life....so sad

Kill one and molested 4-6 female hostages. They've found a 14 page "suicide note". Very minimal criminal record (pot in the 70s). And then there was that other school shooting today where the principal was killed.
