Hi! I dont know where to start to find these guys. We donated 1x to the College Republicans and EVERY single day they call us as well as other republican organizations. Every time they call I explain we are poor republicans and filing for BK and have no money for anyone, please take us off your call list. I have spoken to supervisors and managers and all promise we will be taken off. This is still going on 2 months later. How do I get them to stop as well as find out about some master call list we might be on? We have opted out with the CB so should only get soliciations from companies we have dealt with but some of these we never heard of.

How irritating!! My oldest son has a cure for those kinds of calls. He answers the phone as someone with broken English working at a restaurant and proceeds to take their order. They usually don't call back. (He did get in trouble for doing that, but I really thought it was kind of clever
)

If you don't have it already, get Caller ID and don't answer when this group calls. You can also just quietly hang up when they identify themselves. These callers are now an unwelcome guest in your home - no need for explanations or to be polite if they continue to refuse to honor your requests not to call again.Originally posted by ekelly4200 View PostHi! I too am getting a lot of calls for donations to various charitable organizations. There is no way of knowing if these organizations are truly "charitable" to the populations that they supposedly represent or to themselves. I know that "charitable organizations" do not fall under the purview of the do-not-call-list act but I believe that they should. In fact, I believe that there should be an all-encompassing do-not-call-list for every business and organization. If I want to donate to a "cause" I can but I don't want to be called at 8:30 on a Saturday asking me if I want to donate.

My dad has a strange sense of humor and likes to harrass telemarketers, charitable organizations, etc. when he sees them calling on his caller id. He'll tell them the person they're asking for is dead, in jail, ran away from home, or something else utterly untrue and obnoxious. They usually don't call back! I know this isn't any option for some, but I got rid of my land line phone and only use my cell. I can't tell you how nice it's been not getting any unwanted calls.

First the trustee discharges your debt - "discharged". Then the trustee and his/her office go over your accounts to ensure everything is in order and prepares any refunds you are due. When everything is done and your account is balanced, the trustee closes your case - "closed". Hope this helps!Originally posted by Referee06 View PostQuestion: I am new to this group and presently in the process of filing Chapter 7. I see in some postings the following:
6/30/2006 Discharged
7/19/2006 Closed
What does "Discharged" and "Closed" mean?
Thanks.I am not a lawyer and this is not legal advice nor a statement of the law - only a lawyer can provide those.
