I've gotten lax about reporting my CRA progress. There is still a lot to go.

I am 10 months out of discharge and my score is as follows.

Experian 628
Equifax 660
TU 653

All were in the low 500's to low 600's as late as October of last year.

Excellent, at least with equifax, you are now getting out of sub-prime. In a few more months, you should be good to go.

Keep it up.

However, I would expect a platuae soon.

I expect it will peak around 700. I have several items that can be removed. I'm working nites right now and with a house full of teenagers I find time is limited.

Robivi-can you tell me where you are finding your scores from the credit bureaus. I have viewed my report but it doesn't tell me my score without paying for it. Do you have some secret to share? :D

Hey Robivi, also if ya dont mind my asking, what are you doing to raise your credit score? I haven't even filed bankruptcy, yet my score is like 570-590!

I know I've had probs in the past but my plan is to start to dipute the oldest delinquencies first even though I think those delinquencies are correct. I'm hoping they will have trouble digging info on old accounts within the lawfull timeframe and just have to remove them. I also would like to get a reporting credit card to help. Anyways, whats your secret? Thanks.

Hey does anyone know how long delinquencies show up on a credit report? Like my vehicle loan, the last time we were late was almost a year ago yet it still shows up as a history of being 30 days late.

Payment history is usually reported for 24 months on a revolving basis.

You have to pay for your scores. Yes, it's cost me $$$$. My bad credit was only for a one year period. My Mortgage and GMAC one Visa never behind.

eight or ten points I don't fret over. They will fluctuate. Like I said though, I'm mostly centered on Experian right now. that had the most problems. The whole reporting thing is a laugh, the info is so inaccurate.

Ok, so when should I pull my credit report, a day after being discharged? I have always been on top of my credit report and have disputed things in the past. I'm just wondering when to start looking, my bk should be discharged in mid April or early May?

It typically takes 30-90 days for the BK to work its way through the Credit reporting system.

Hello everyone. Ron Here.

I found a suggested tip for raising your credit score on another website just lately and I am not sure about it, but it knda makes sense.

It goes like this..........

Get a friend or family member that has good or even excellent credit to add you to one ( or more ) of their Credit Card accounts as an Authorized User.

The tipster says that all of the friends good credit will show up on your credit reports, thus raising your scores.

Anyone heard of this before? What do you think?

But this raises another question in my mind, Would your bad credit show up on your friends credit reports?

Any one that knows about this or heard of this working for the good, please reply here. OK?

Thanks to all.

Ron

Hey Ron,

I have actually heard that that scenario is a lot of bunk, and can get you in trouble in the long run.

Hey Ron, I have heard GOOD things about this. No, your BAD credit history will not show up on your friends report BUT if they do anything good or bad IT WILL show up on yours. I know someone who did this and it does help alittle :) It can't work miracles on your report but it can improve it. For example, I had my mother on my discover card as an authorized user and when my credit went sour so did hers :( Just make sure the person you are using is credit worthy and has a good stable job and not a whole lotta debt that can turn a positive thing into a negative thing really fast. good luck ! Hey tinroofrusted, what have you heard that makes you think its something that can get you into trouble? Did you try it before?

I have done this. ANd ther's nothing bad about it. If you get a friend, or relative tolist you as an authorized user, it will definitely help your score! Mine raised about 80 points in about 2 months. ANd none of my bad credit is reported to my sister report. IT IS DEFINITELY A GOOD IDEA AND IT WORKS. I DID IT!

There's nothing bad about it. I did it and it raised my score about 80 points in about 2 months. Creditors are amazed at how my score is so high and I am in an active chapter 13. And my negatvie credit does not appear on my sisters credit report, nor doews her accounts that she doesn't have me listed on as an authorized user. It is a WIN WIN situation. There was actually a write up on it in the Clevalnd Plain Dealer.
