    SOl for Long distance

I just got a collection notice from my very favorite NCO. OC is AT&T. Problem is I have no idea what this debt is for. I have had verizon long distance for over 5 years now and had ATT cellular but stayed with them when they switched to cingular and still use them. I tried to search for SOL on long distance service but cant find it. Any one direct me? I am in NY. I do plan on sending a DV letter to NCO but want to know everything I can. And of course I get this 2 weeks after we filed.
And this is not listed on any of my credit reports.

The SOL would be the standard SOL for any contract claim (typically 2 years, but it varies from state to state).

If those are regulated ld charges, the FCC's sol is 2 years from date of call for interstate. If in-state, the sol can be much shorter, anywhere from 30 days to 6 mos or a year. Check your state's utility commission rules. But the bigger problem is getting it out of NCO. They don't care about that sol stuff.

Just tell NCO you filed BK. Most discharges include language that states any debt that existed on the date of filing is discharged.

You could also file an amendment to your plan, but I think it cost something to do that.

Just give 'em your attorney's name and/or case number.

If you wanna be on the safe side, it costs $26 filing fee plus any applicable attny's fee to ammend your Creditor's Matrix. You can include this acct in your BK and then never have to worry with it at all.

I am not an attorney. My comments are based on personal experience and research. Always consult an attorney in your area to address concerns related to your particular situation.
