I have a debtor that I just found out was left off of my bankruptcy schedule. Due to this they are still reporting me to the bureaus as a bad debt.
I sent them a copy of my bankruptcy information and they still refuse to change the negative reporting because they are not on the bankruptcy paperwork.
Other than this problem I have very good credit, however this one problem is going to cause me to have to get a higher interest rate for a home loan.
What are the laws on something like this? I am pretty sure that its against the law for me to pay this debt but am not sure.
What can I do?

How much is this debt for and if you had listed it, was it dischargeable?
If the debt owed is a trivial amount, then pay it off (and it's not against the law - you can pay off any debt, including a debt wiped out in your bankruptcy, if you want to). If the amount is too large to pay off easily, then get in touch with your old lawyer. In some states the bk courts have ruled that *any* dischargeable debt that existed when you filed whether it's listed or not is wiped out. It's worth checking on.

I don't think it cost to much to add them to your schedule of debtors if you are still in the Bk process, definitely ask your lawyer. If not, than just pay it off like IRPN suggested :)
Good Luck, Catchmeifyoucan

Was it a chapter 13 or a chapter 7? If it is a chapter 13 you may be able to get FHA financing. This is a matter you may want to discuss with your attorney, as far as the collection still reporting.
