    Discharged

I want to thank everyone in this forum for being here. I needed the sense of sharing I got from reading the posts, occasionally commenting, and just not feeling so alone as I went through this process. It's something you don't really discuss with your friends and family. At least, I didn't discuss it.

And so I needed someplace I could discuss it. Anyway,

I checked PACER around 1:00 p.m. and no change in status. Then around 3:15 p.m. I checked again and I saw that the Court had entered our discharge. It feels so good. Now, I just have to wait for the Court to close our file, but I won't stress about that.

Our budget is working for the first time in years. Plus, I got a new job with health benefits. We were facing nearly $1,100 a month in premiums plus $300 to $350 a month in deductibles for my husbands medications. Now, I'll pay $283 a month for our premiums (love being on a group plan as opposed to two separate plans, one for myself and kids, and one for my husband's high risk group). I'm not sure what it will do to our deductibles but it won't be worse.

This Thanksgiving, I truly do have so much to be thankful for and while I wish I didn't have to go through a bankruptcy to do it, I am so glad this option existed or we would have been driven underground.

Oh someone mentioned disclosing bankruptcy when interviewing. I chose not to mention it. I didn't think it was anyone's business. And I doubt I would have gotten the job if I did disclose it.

    Yay discharge!

Thanks again for the support and good advice.
