Try to know the value of your home (check the property tax records to know what they have your house appraised at) and how much you still owe on the home. Same with vehicles, what they are, how much is owed and current blue book value. Try to have documentation or just know a month's worth of income. And ALL creditors, secured and unsecured, total amount dollar wise of UNsecured debt would be great. This should be about all you would need for the first go around, that's about all we needed. Others here may throw in their two cents with a few other things that might be a good idea also. Good Luck to you!"Try to save money. Someday it may be valuable again." - Anonymous

What happens during routine initial Consultations was recently discussed:

Now if this is the attny you decide you're going with, you'll need to turn in a lot of things.
Note, tho, as GMLutz suggests, don't just up and pay the fee at the initial Consultation. Go home and think it over before hiring any attny.Filed Ch 7 - 09/06

I am not an attorney. My comments are based on personal experience and research. Always consult an attorney in your area to address concerns related to your particular situation.
