    Sorry it is over

You know after years leading up to the BK it is nice to look aback and be sorry that a holiday has passed. I enjoyed it immensely this year. Yes, because of conditions in SoFla we are stretched financially, nearly everyone I know is pressured. But the big bills and phone calls and nightmares are years behind and damage is healing fast now.

My wife, kids and I really enjoyed this holiday season immensely.

I hope it was same for all of us here in our little family. Those who are in it, don't lose hope. It has an end

It was a good Christmas at my house this year........ Last year they sold my home right before Christmas...... (bankruptcy sucks!!)

Had a house full of friends/neighbors over and lot of laughter, good times, and fellowship.......

Did lots of baking - cookies/brownies/gingerbread house/candy....... so lots of food on hand......

Christmas Eve a gathering of friends/roommates and neighbors......... We all counted our "blessings" and enjoyed each others company.......

Visited some relatives on Christmas Day, and run my roommates around to see theirs also.....

Santa was good to everyone - including me....... and Molly and Minny had a "BLAST".............. the dogs got rawhides, bones, and toys galore......

My roommates said it was the "best Christmas" either of them had ever had, they had never experienced a Christmas like a my house..... And my roommates 13 year old daughter (whose visiting) loved every minute of it........

My Christmas this year was "stress free" like I want them to be................

Yes, this year was a "great holiday" with friends and neighbors for me.......

    Counting my blessings again,

    Minny

My suggestions are from "personal experience" and research only. Do not consider this as legal advice. Each bankruptcy case is different.

It was our first Christmas in many, many years that we didn't buy anything with a credit card. It's a wonderful feeling to know that we won't be facing any of those bills in January.

We have had a wonderful holiday so far as well! Our whole extended family gathered together on Christmas Eve for dinner and our "white elephant" (some call it Dirty Santa) gift exchange - lots of laughs, great homemade food, and wonderful company!

This is our second year with a "cash-only" Christmas. As we were enjoying ourselves Christmas morning after opening our gifts, my adult daughter noted that the gifts have so much more meaning now when we've each spent so much time and so much thought choosing one or two special gifts for the person rather than just piling on the packages. She was right - this *is* better! One of the most important lessons I've learned from bankruptcy so far....priceless!
I am not a lawyer and this is not legal advice nor a statement of the law - only a lawyer can provide those.

I also paid for everything in cash this year... a total turnaround from the previous couple of years. My family all did the same, so this was a guilt-free Christmas! I also had 4 days off and that was priceless as well.

I look forward to next Christmas when (hopefully), the BK is behind us. This Christmas was probably the worst ever, mentally. I was so obsessed with reading about BK and that's all I did. And sleep. I did cook Christmas dinner.......sang happy birthday to Dear Jesus....thanked him for another day.

There was just no joy though. The kids didn't come home this year and all of our friends and family live out of state. Hubby and I didn't exchange gifts or even buy cards. I did send out cards though. We are just grateful for what we do have.

But it's okay. Everyday is a gift from God. Some are just more challenging than others.
