Looking for Atty in Long Island, NY

I have looked into a few attorneys and met with one that I did feel comfortable with. I am filing a chapter 7 but there I am an owner of a business so I want to make sure I have a good attorney. This attorney is only charging me $1000 pluse filing fees which seems to good to be true which means it usually is. It seems like he knows his job but I just want some other opinions. Does anyone know of a website that has any type of reviews on attorneys or has anyone had an experience with Stuart Gelberg of Garden City, NY? Thanks for the help

When you say you "looked into a few attorneys", did you meet with them or just hear about them? Since you have a business involved in your bankruptcy, you are absolutely right to want to have an excellent bankruptcy attorney representing you.

What did you ask the lawyer? Did your questions include the following suggestions for questions to ask during the interview when considering a bankruptcy lawyer - http://research.lawyers.com/lawyer-i....html?site=537

To see if this lawyer is certified for bankrutpcy, you can check this website's links - http://moranlaw.net/specialists.htm . There are many excellent bankruptcy lawyers who are not certified, but at least this gives you some indication that they have had to pass an exam that indicates expertise in bankruptcy. If you still aren't sure you've got the right lawyer, check out "Choose a Bankruptcy Lawyer" at http://moranlaw.net/interview.html

Hope this helps! Let us know what you decide to do - good luck!
