I am trying to get an appointment set up to see a lawyer about chap. 7. I called a lawyer who's office was supposed to email me a list of things to get together and have'nt got the email yet so may have to try another. I would love to file pro se but I think it would stress me out to much! LOL
I have posted earlier that my husband has 2 broke arms and is unable to work/no disability at all. Over this time several people have given us gifts. My grandmother gave us $500 to pay rent, his mom gave us 1500 to basically cover bounced checks and get our checking account back in the black when this first happened, my dad gave me 300 to buy Christmas presents for our kids (and the charges from Amazon for this were on my debit card), etc. I have tried not to deposit anymore then necessary in our checking account but sometimes I have had to to cover checks already wrote. Will the trustee understand these gifts? Even including these our income is a good 10,000 under median.
My other question is regarding my car. Its the only thing we have and I would like to keep it. I am not up to date on it, but not 30 days late either, running about 2 weeks behind. Earlier in the year I called in and did the interest only payment thing. I was thinking of doing this again next week to get it back to current. Then would we be okay to file next month? Or is it better to catch up myself without doing an interest only payment?
Oh last thing! LOL Can we use our income tax return money to pay the lawyer and file? We are in Tennessee.
