    All was going well, UNTIL..

I filed for Ch. 7 pro se. Trustee said I did an excellent job. It was a no asset case. I was paying my filing fee over 3 payments. My second payment was due over the Christmas holidays. I mailed it in what I thought was a timely manner. Well the holiday mailed slowed things up and the BK offices were closed and behind. So my payment was not posted until a day after it was due. And it automatically dismissed my case. I know I can reopen it, I have been doing a lot of research. I will have to pay an additional fee of course which is why I have not done it yet, but will very soon.

My post BK class that i took prior to the 45 day deadline was done, I went ahead and mailed it to them but they would not log it in because case was closed. So it was sent back. Anyone know if this will hurt me when I file my petion to reopen? Will it be considered "late" and the case be dismissed again??

Any help/advice is greatly appreciated!! thanks

Since Ch 13ers are required to take the same post-filing debtor education course as Ch 7ers, and Ch 13ers can take their course anytime during their 3-5 year Ch 13 case before they are discharged, it looks like the post-filing debtor education certificate might be good for years. Please don't take my word for it though - this is a good question to ask your lawyer just to be sure.

Did you make your 3rd payment?

Try to be sweet and very professional calling the clerk to find out why your case was dismissed (act "dumb") and see if it was some kind of "clerical error" due to the holiday. It's worth a shot to try to avoid fees to reopen.
