how to contact collection agencies
i am gettig togeather a list of known crditorsbut some of the collection showing on my crdit report are so old i am not sure who they are now.i neead a list of collection agecy phone numbers so i can contact them and find out who the original debt was owed to thanks

There are so many collection agencies out there, and so many that come and go. Compiling a list of thier, contact info would be an exhaustive process. Try contacting the original creditor and ask them for the name/number of the collection agency. Also, try doing a google search of the name of the collection agency that's on your credit report(s). Lastly, check to see if you still have any of all the old collection letters that were sent to you, the contact info will be on it.Originally posted by flattop
