    Verizon Ch 7

    Hi All,

    I just recently filed Ch7.

I am current on my Verizon cell phone bill. What would happen if I was not to pay my next bill due in a couple of days and then stop using their phone altogether? Will they be able to collect amount due and ETF?

    Thank you

I believe so since it was after you filed Ch. 7 How long have you been a customer? If the payments are an issue for you, letting them know you're thinking of cancelling and would consider staying if they would lower your plan may work. Cingular did it for my husband once but he'd been a customer for 5 years or so.

I can make the payment, but the problem is that despite me putting password on my account, they still allowed my ex husb to activate new line and blackberry (spel?) under my name. I just want to change companies, so my ex would not know where to go next. I asked Verizon to waive ETF based on the fact that they cannot protect my account, but they refused and offered me to set new password... like it works... I guess i 'm stuck with them until the end of contract...

Get a new provider and then have your attny amend your Creditor's Matrix. Add Verizon to your BK. It's a $26 fee to add one or more Creditors, plus whatever fee your attny would charge. But then you'd be done with Verizon.

You can include your total acct balance plus any fee Verizon might charge, per line, for early cancellation.

        Just a thought for you.
