    update

I finally got my discharge paper in the mail last month
The papers make it sound like it's over and the lawyer says it is.
My question is what does case being "closed" mean?
Another good thing is I got a BP gas card and regular Credit card.
I know I need to be careful and just use them when needed and pay off the full amount every month. I went to http://www.bigcreditcard.net I applied online I got approved just waiting on the cards to get here
And Im possibly gonna get a new Job at 17.00 an hour.

    TTYL,
    Chris
    Thanks,

    Chris

    Be Careful....stay out of debt...

Please be careful. Even though everybody tells us that nobody will help us when and after we file, in reality, I have seen a trend where major companies will have special programs for people who have had bad credit in the past. I know our credit is jacked up, but some how when companies know your slate is clean, they come after you with more ways of getting you in debt. Be careful.

Congratulations on your discharge! Regarding your question on being closed, that just has to do with the administrative part of your case, unless you were an asset case. Either way, here's a link that tells in detail the difference between discharged and closed. http://bkforum.com/showthread.php?t=10879
Good luck on the rebuilding, just use your new credit wisely as you seem to be doing.

Good Point.... Remember, credit card companies don't exist unless they can convince people to go in debt...without debt, CC companies have no income from late fees, finance charges, over balance charges, etc.
        Filed 8/25/06, Discharged 11/28/06, CASE CLOSED 11/14/2007!
