    Expenses Schedule Amounts...

I am wondering your thoughts on a couple of things r/t this...

    1. I have really been trying to mazimize coupon usage as well as stock-piling when groceries are on sale to save wherever we can. I have been doing a lot of shopping at CVS where they issue Extra Care Bucks (ECBs) which are like rebate dollars you can apply to future purchases. I have really been making out well with these.

In these cases, am I correct in basing my grocery, personal care, health & beauty items at the costs before coupons and the ECBs are applied as there is no way to know if there will be a coupons available again when the item needs to be replenished? My receipts show the real cost and then at the end the deductions would show. I just don't want to be in trouble if someone asks for my receipts and it shows that I actually paid less than what I listed as the costs.

    2. Sometimes I do cash back at the grocery store so that I have spending money for small items (dh's paycheck is direct deposit). These transaction show on my bank statement as a purchase with cash back (ex. Pur w/cash bk FoodLion). We usually only take about $20-40 at a time this way. Will this raise a lot of suspicion and I will have to show all the receipts? I am trying to save them all but I may be missing a few.

Thanks for any thoughts you can share!

Yes - costs without coupons is the way to go.

People need cash - you are just getting yours from the grocery store rather than the ATM. These small amounts shouldn't be a problem. It is a good idea to track where your cash goes - not for the trustee, but for your own realistic family budgeting.
I am not a lawyer and this is not legal advice nor a statement of the law - only a lawyer can provide those.
