Not sure I understand what is going to happan?

My credit score is 400 and there seems no help with bills. I have no credit cards and no out standing credit bills, but what i do have is alot of hospital bills and utility bills. Also have alot of bad checks and bank fees from 4 years ago. I just moved in to a house that I rent with the option to buy. What my question is after I file chapter 7 do I still have to pay off the people on the credit reports for my credit to go up? Or is really ersaed?

Maybe someone could clear this up for me?

Assuming the debts will be discharged, then you don't have to pay them. Typically, the debts get re-reporated as "discharged in Bankruptcy". And yes, overtime, your credit score will go up. In fact, if you score is that low, I bet your Credit Score will go up as soon as your discharge works its way through the credit reporting system.
