Who is best professional to clean up past credit?

I have a friend who makes too much to file BK. They want to clean up their past credit report and debts that were sold off to collections. It has been over 7 years so any new activity to clean this up must be carefully planned so as to not restart the clock.

Now if a BK lawyer simply wants to make money from filings and other supposed assistance out there is in it to make a buck...who would be the utmost professional and qualified to tread carefully with my friend's interests at heart?

Any idea's appreciated!

Basically your friend is the best choice. He should pull his credit reports. Then he should match up the data to the original accounts. He'll need to know the last day he made a payment for each account. That date sets in to motion the Statue of Limitations. Each states SOL is different, but wherever he incurred the debt that is the SOL used.
