Bank of America Threat

Got a call from Bank of America today. They are threatening to bring a lawsuit against me unless I settle with them. I still havn't gotten the money together to pay the attorney let alone a settlement with them. BoA keeps wanting me to take out a personal loan.

I am hopefully going to be able to get things rolling this weekend. At this point I don't even have anything to loose anyway. What gets me is that Bank of America is the only one who is being really bad about trying to collect. HEck, they were the ones when I first got into this that kept wanting all thiese huge payouts and payment plans when this started. Somehow this is good business to them. But when they swallow up every bank in your area, I guess they figure you have to work with them.

Sorry, I had to laugh (in a sickened way) when I read this. Many years ago (1992) I was close to filing BK and was getting the usual harrassment calls. I had a local department store card that I owed $681 (funny how I recall the exact amount) and when the guy called me (many times) he at one point said "Well, I think you should march yourself down to your local bank and get a personal loan to pay this off!" (exact quote, too). I laughed! I could not believe that he was suggesting this and as I pointed out to him that a bank certainly would not give me a loan considering my financial situation (I had a mortgage, large credit card debt, was unemployed etc.). Anyway, just wanted to share that exasperating experience with you.

btw, Bank of America was a card I did a deal with back then but who were extremely difficult to deal with and have never accepted a card from them since - on principle. Best of luck and don't let them intimidate you!
