    Best way to use "PACER"

Whats the best way for me to use PACER to see how much people filed for in dollar amounts in my district?

I'm trying to accrue the LEAST amount of costs as well...

Does your local newspaper publish the bankruptcy filings? Ours does and you can search them on the newspaper website and see the recent filings, amounts, and what chapters.

I'm curious about Pacer too. Are you allowed to use PACER before you actually file?

Stores, time for a direct question....what are you really worried about?

It's obvious there's something going on with your case that is making you very nervous. We're all strangers here. We don't know who you are from Adam. What's up? Let us help you rather than asking all these questions trying not to tell us what's really going on. Enough shadows.
I am not a lawyer and this is not legal advice nor a statement of the law - only a lawyer can provide those.

01/24/07 - Judge dismisses mortgage company objection
      09/27/07 - Confirmed at last!
06/10/11 - Trustee confirms all payments made

Thanks, SF. And I see there's an S-corp involved too.

Stores, yes, I think it's safe to say that your Ch 7 case is going to be scrutized by everyone up to and including the US Trustee very closely.

What worries me most is that you haven't been honest with your lawyer. Now that could come around to bite you big time. How can he protect you if he doesn't know what's hiding the shadows of your finances?

Fess up now before filing - after filing it could be too late. Lay everything out on the table. Do it as soon as possible.

The people 1 filing number behind us got pegged for an Extension by the UST's Office on the day before the Last Day for Objections. They were small business owners. They were scrutinized but did go on to receive their Discharge. Just a couple months later than the rest of us at our 341 that day.

I don't think PACER is set up to search by $$$ amount. You have to search by Trustee, Judge, Attny, or Party I think.

Lindsay had a good idea for you. If your newspaper posts filings as a matter of Public Record, see if you can search old BK listings. Start about 4 months ago and work backward. Those cases would have had a chance to work thru to Discharge. Look at the $$$ amounts people were seeking to Discharge. Then you can search for the Party Names on PACER and see how their cases went.

I also sense that you are very worried about something, but I think all of us are. Even though I read post after post of successful filings, I get nervous that a million people will be successful with their discharge and mine will be all screwed up and investigated. We have a business involved too, but its just a small eBay business (sole proprietership) with gross sales under $30,000 a year and about $10,000 yearly profit. I figure that I'll try to find the best lawyer I can afford and hope things go smoothly. We haven't done any inside payments, only have our house and vehicles as assets, but I still worry that they will say, "$80,000 in debt and nothing to show for it!" and give a hard time. Of course, I'm a worrier. I worry about everything. I get myself so worked up that I grind and clench my teeth during my sleep due to my TMJ and stress. Lately, I've been waking up almost every night in pain due to biting my own tongue during my jaw clenching! Its no way to live like this, so we will file and hope for things to go smoothly. Thats all you can really do. I'd try to get a really good lawyer to ensure things will go well.
