Charge off [Archive] - Bankruptcy Forum

What exactly does charge off mean.
I looked at my old closed credit union account on line today, amazing it still has my signature loan on there, the status is "charge off" but there is a $3500 balance. What does that mean. My Chp 7 was discharged April 21st.

I surrendered a camper, it looks like they sold it and subtracted what they got for it at auction from the signature loan, which at the point of filing was $6,500. I'm checking my CR in one month. Should this debt be listed as a Charge off, Bankruptcy or both?

You need to dispute this. The ONLY reading it should have is a 0.00 balance and should say "included in bankruptcy."

Don't take no for an answer.
