    Viewing Pacer

I am new viewing Pacer and I don't want to rack up a bunch of charges unnecessarily so can any of the veterans steer me in the right direction on this. I'm not even sure if it's possible to do this.

Is there a way to see on Pacer someone's inventory of household items so that I can know what the average estimates of goods are for my area? I am just curious to see what others in my area estimate their furniture and clothes at.

I asked my atty's paralegal and she said that many people estimate too high and she did say she would "help" me but I'm not sure what she meant by that. I am lost here and this is the last thing I have to do before I hand in my paperwork and it's really holding me up.

Can anyone offer any advice of the quickest and most painless way to do this????

Can't speak for your specific area, but our lawyer told us and other members here have posted from various areas of the country that the value of average household goods in the US are worth about $2000-3000. You should be safe going with this estimate unless you own valuables like art, furs, guns, etc that can raise that value considerably.

I am not a lawyer and this is not legal advice nor a statement of the law - only a lawyer can provide those.

Thanks lrprn, she's working with the atty so no worries there.

Do you know if it's possible to view pacer to see other people's property values? Or is that something only the trustee and you see?

You could just look up one case to see what they listed but the cost adds up quick. Remember that you just need to list how much it would cost for an item in the same condition as what you have. I looked at used furniture stores, ebay and the newspaper classifieds to get an idea of value.
Since you have an atty, maybe you could do a couple values on your own and show it to him/her to see if you're on the right track.

I don't want to overvalue as I'm really afraid of what happens in that situation. I live in Florida and the personal property exemption is only 1K. That doesn't add up to much. One thing on my side is that I recently divorced and my ex got half of all of our stuff so I really and truly don't have that much. I did get remarried though in May and my new husband brought in a lot of stuff to the marriage, although my atty tells me that since it's not my stuff, I don't list it (I think that's what she said - I'm clarifying that with her on Tuesday).
