Watch out for Credit Card Scam

    Hello All,

Watch out for a scam in which a company called USA Credit Solutions calls your cell phone and the representative tries to offer you a Citibank Credit Card with a $5000.00 limit. This company tries to get you to accept the offer and then ask you for your Social Security number. First of all I knew this was fake. I know that being out of Bankruptcy for less than two years that Citibank wouldn't give me a credit card with such a high credit limit.

Also, I called the number back the representative gave me...and it was totally disconnected. Then I called the number that appeared on my caller ID and it was a number to an adult sex line.

    Just be on the lookout.

Okay, Okay....now don't take this personal as it is NOT an attack on you or anyone else here...

And THANK YOU for your post. We all need input.

    But, I cannot resist....

Really, are not ALL credit cards a scam?

I mean, really. Have you ever read the crap that's written in a credit card agreement in even the most "desired" credit cards.

Credit cards are set up to scam you. That's the whole idea.

    Okay, enough from me....

Again, thanks for your post. We appreciate it and my comment here is not to reflect on you....

...just for the credit industry as a whole.

    Best Regards,

    CPO

Can't help but disagree. Can't wait for my discharge so I can start using them again. That wasn't what put me here, so I am very high on credit cards.

Balance transfers, payday loans, paying 18% APR by not paying them off in full each month - that is where the scam is.
      Filed Business Chapter 7: 7/11/07
      341 Meeting: 8/8/07 Asset Case
      US Trustee reviewed case/resolved 9/14/07
      Discharged: 10/11/07 Closed: 11/2/08

To each his own I guess...........but if your going to pay off the balance every month then a debit card with full protection backed by a couple of grand in your checking account (Yes, I have that...) will do the same thing without enriching the corrupt credit scammers or exposing yourself to the games...in which, by the way, the rules seem to change daily....

They used to call it "loan sharking..."

Now they call it "financial freedom."

If you can't save a couple of grand you have no business using somebody elses money at such great risk...and interest.

        And it's even your money...

If you have been through BK, I can't imagine the desire to live beyond your means...perhaps again...or assuming the risk all over again.

        Again, to each his own.

        Regards,

        CPO

I pay off my credit card balances each and every month. There for it does not cost a cent for using my credit cards in a responsible manner.

As you said to each his own.

I also PIF each month, and I have about 200,000 airline miles I've accumlated in the last 3 years for doing so. They pay me!
