    Discharge Papers?

We filed Chapter 13 and I was told our plan was completed.
Yesterday my husband got that wonderful letter in the mail saying his paycheck would not be drafted anymore. Does anyone know how long it takes for them to discharge? My car is broke down and I really need another one. We have been just waiting for the Chapter 13 to be over. Thanks

I've been waiting by the mailbox too. Last check (#36) sent August 31st.

I've heard that you should get discharge papers anywhere from 2-6 months after the final payment.

It seems to be taking 2-5 months for a chapter 13 trustee to "wrap up" and close a chapter 13 (I am not even sure why it would take that long, to be honest). In any event, I wouldn't worry about it.

Not sure about having to show discharge paperwork to like a car dealer.

I'm sure they would do a credit check, and what date you filed will show up. You could say that you served your 3 year sentence based on that credit report date.

            Discharge papers

We received offers for car loans the very day Pacer showed we were discharged.Received the discharge letter about 6 weeks later.
