    rental home

    I can afford all by bills except for the rental property that i have.. been have problems with renters exc... my question is that what happends if i let it foreclose or can i file a bk on just that property? if i filed a bk would i have to move into the rental which is less expensive then my current home?

    Im sure no expert, but I'm pretty sure you can't just file BK on one debt. Unless it's a business, and you file BK for the business and not on your personal debts.

      There is something called a "single asset real estate BK" (do a google search). But I am not sure you can use it on "investment properties" In any event, Kiddles is correct, you cannot simply file BK on a single debt if you have other debts.

        thats what i figured, i would just hate to lose everything cause of that house... do you know if they will make me give up the more expensive one?
