Anyone use or dealt with Total Bankruptcy?

I filled out one of their forms online last night and literally about 25 seconds later, the phone rang and a lady was trying to set me up with a phone consult with a lawyer for Monday. I set one up for Wednesday morning, but do not know too much about them. Has anyone ever used this service before?

    Thanks,
    April

Personally, I'd stay away from that kind of thing and contact a couple of bk attorneys in your area. Alot of these online jokers are only in it for the $$ and don't care at all about your situation.
    Filed Business Chapter 7: 7/11/07
    341 Meeting: 8/8/07 Asset Case
    US Trustee reviewed case/resolved 9/14/07
    Discharged: 10/11/07 Closed: 11/2/08

Our attorney we got from Total Bankruptcy and he has been the best. He answers all our questions when we have them.

I used Total Bankruptcy and had a very positive experience. They just refer you to an area lawyer (law firm) with bk experience. It's not the "Total Bankruptcy Law Firm" or anything like that although I'm sure there's a referral bonus or something. During my experience, my lawyer got back to me within a day or two of calling or e-mailing and handled my case wonderfully. The lawyer I used only dealt with consumer bankruptcy and nothing else so she was up-to-the-minute on any changing laws or additions of exemptions, etc. Overall, a very good experience (in a really horrible situation)! BTW, it cost me $299 for the filing fee and the firm charged $1,200 so from what I read, that's fairly standard.

That's great. Thanks for the replies. I am set up for the phone interview next week. I have been reading a lot about BK online so I think I know enough to at least know if they're trying to get me into something that's not for us. Again, thanks!

Thats where I got the lawyer I hired from. He called within an hour of filling out the forms online. They are just a service to find lawyers. later Total BK called me and asked if I was satisfied with the service and if the lawyer was prompt.

Nice. I feel more comfortable now about them calling on Wednesday...than you.

Hey, this sounds good! I like the fact that they called you to ask if your attorney was good; it shows they care about the quality of their attorneys.

I am still looking, having rejected the one I was going to go with before, so I think I'll check them out. Thanks for the feedback, and thanks for the OP for asking.

Sure. I think if you don't like them from the way Total BK made it sound, you can call them back and get referred to another lawyer...if we don't like the lawyer we talk to next week, we are going to ask for a referral to another one.
