YAY! That was so easy. All the people ahead of us had attorney's but they all had real estate too. We didn't. He took the title to our truck, life insurance policy, and ID and then asked us questions to identify us. Then he asked if we read through the statement of information. Who helped us and I said no one, I filed myself. He said "I see you made about 40,000 last year, can you explain what happened?" and I told him how we were living in Florida and had moved back here to MI and he said "oh, ok, that explains the significant drop in income". He asked a few general questions that he asked everyone else as well, such as did we read all the paperwork and understand it? Etc. He asked who worked and where. Also, the other people had creditors present but we didn't. Their creditors asked how much they made, when they started work, what brought them into financial difficulty. These people gave simple answers. Very quick and painless.
He was very nice, helpful, serious but not mean.
So now what? How long before (possible) discharge? I know there is a 60 day wait for objections. Does it close after that 60 days?
