Creditor objections after 341 meeting and selling a house...

    Hi Everyone!

When I had my meeting 3 weeks ago no creditors showed up and my trusteee didnt have too many questions for me, just basic stuff. I was filing a no asset ch 7. We do own a home but my husband owned it before we got married and I am not on the deed or mortgage. My husband did not file BK, just me. My attorney listed my home as an exempt property just because I have equitable interest due to the marriage. So I have two questions...

    1. How often to creditors object to discharging a debt between the time of the meeting and the deadline?

    2. If my husband sells the house after my bankruptcy is discharged and cashes out some money to buy a different house in a better neighborhood will I have problems with that? Will I have to pay anything?

    Thanks so much!!

Creditors have 60 days from the time of your trustee meeting to object. Odds are, if no creditors showed up to to 341 meeting, you don't have anything to worry about.

You shouldn't have any problem with the sale of the house so long as it happens after discharge, but you will want to discuss that with your attorney.
