safe to keep. I only have 2900.00 on it but wondered if I should take the money now to pay bills or borrow on it. I am in Michigan and have an appt with an attorney this week, Thanks!

Well, certainly don't borrow against it.

You should speak to a local BK attorney to see if the annuity would qualify for an exemption, many do.
