At a lose and very confused

Hi all,
I am new here and really could use any and all advice as I am very lost and confused. Ok here goes

My husband is planning on filing ch7 bk and we will be talking to a few lawyers today about it. His credit is a mess and now we have some one saying the are sueing him over an old credit card. He has been layed off for 9 months and just last week was able to find a new job but took a huge pay cut from 23 to 13 an hour. We are now behind on some of the month to month bill and if not very very careful will be late for the frist time on our rent and home payment. We know that BK is the only way to go now but are very worried. We only have 1 car it is a 91 ford explore with over 100k miles but it is all we have to get him to and from work and kid to doctors. Our home is a 2/1 moible home that is 20 years old and we have a rent to own deal on it buying for $5000 over 5 years. The thing is we can not afford to lose either of these 2 things our home or car as we don't have a way to get another of either and no fam or friends to stay with. Will they be safe you think?? We just do not want to end up worse than we are now. Advice support any thing would be great about now. Thanks for taking the time to read this long rambling post from very stressed out people

I dont know why they would take your car or house. We filed Chapter 7 and were able to keep both of them. I would consult an attorney asap because I am sure you have heard and read the new BK law goes into effect in October and you don't want to have to deal with it. Good luck! Use this forum; there are a lot of people who are experienced with BK filing.
