So, we've decided to go ahead and file a Ch.7. My parents have agreed to lend us the 1K our attorney will charge and we have been approved for a 722redemption loan to keep our van. I am relieved and nervous all at the same time. I do have a couple of questions though:
1- I have a check from my parents, I should write it out directly to the attorney right?
2- Do I need to give my attorney a list of all the people we owe money to? I mean, I know i'll need to let them know everything/everyone but is that something that needs to be done before we file or do we have until the 341 meeting?
3- Who lists exemptions and things? We should be a no asset case but we do have some house stuff, wedding gifts ect. Is is us or the attorney? Do we do this together?
I also wanted to say from a previous thread. I know this is our one fresh start. I know that we would be "wasting" it if we didn't improve our financial situation. BUT the thing is that without all these bills we can't pay every month we will be improving our financial state. We have health insurance starting Nov. 1 so new medical bills, should they happen, would no longer be as much of an issue. Now, if my sons medicines don't continue to be covered that would be a bummer. Moving again is NOT an option for us. So, for now we need to sacrifice, tighten up and make do with what we have and what my husband makes. As my sons condition improves I will pick up some part time work to help out but for now it is in all of our (my family) best interest to keep on the way things are now.
I look forward to having financial relief. I am grateful to even have this option of filing available to us. I look forward to sleeping at night (as much as the babe will allow anyway).
Thanks in advance for answering my q's.
