ok, since I received an approval from FreshStart, I am 99% sure I'm going to let my car go. I have heard nothing from Ascencion on the negotiation agreement I offered via my lawyer. (they are the loan "servicer" for HSBC since I filed)
The loan with FreshStart has no pre-payment penalty and my plan is to refinance once I'm discharged next month and before I even have to make the first huge payment at a God awful 23.9% interest rate.
The benefit as I see it is a more practical car with 4-doors and no dealing with HSBC ever again. I just hope this doesn't come back to bite me in the you-know-what.
Anyway, thanks for reading all that. My question is how do you suggest I surrender my vehicle? I don't want to leave it parked on the street until they come tow it because a) there's hardly room as it is and b) I don't want my boyfriend's family, our neighbors, etc. to start asking questions.
