Can you pay creditors less then minimum

Does anyone know if you pay less then your min. payment can your creditors do anything to you? I am considering BK, I have an outrageous amount of dedt. Between CC's and medical bills I can barely afford to eat. Any advice will help. Thanks

yes, you will get hit with fees (look on the back of your statement, should explain them). If you are going to file anyway (and are SURE ) then making them smaller or not at all is moot issue.

Paying less than the minimum payment is a default, so if that is your intention, you might as well not pay them anything. Don't throw good money after bad.

They will still hit you with late fees, over the limit fees(if they apply) and probably try and raise your intererst rate to around 30 percent so don't throw your money away.
