341 Today!

So we had our 341 meeting this morning, we were getting a little nervous with the first 2 that went they were really grilled, but one lady was trying to say that 5 acres of land was worth nothing. The second person had a creditor show up and he had sold something that was secured and didn't tell the bank. When we went up I had to show that my wedding ring and engagement ring were one ring now, because we had put down that it was worth $1500...apparently in the Western NY district they were taking rings from people right at the meetings the attorney said. She said ours was the first that they asked to see the ring at. Other than that though it went ok. He did ask about our tax returns from last year, we said we were expecting less this year so my attorney doesn't think he'll make the request to take our return...we are keeping our fingers crossed! So yeah!!! We are now a part of the 60 day club now...I plan to do our other debtor education this weekend!

I am so glad this is over!

Holly, I actually filed in Northern NY, I'm sorry I forgot to mention that, but my attorney said in Western NY they were taking them right there. She said she was going to start warning her clients about that in this district.

We will be filing in the Western District of NY and when we met with the attorney the first time he said they are REALLY tough in the Rochester courts. Like have all your ducks in a row and don't pull any punches. We will be filing in Buffalo district but he scared the dickens out of us about the Rochester area.

I heard from our attorney today, we are officially no asset and they won't try to take our tax refund or my ring! yeah!!!

wow, they take peoples rings? I bought a cheap wedding band(5 bucks at the mall, no joke LMAO) to wear to the 341, even though what we had was exempt, the band I usually wear might have drawn attention to us. Our trustee didn't even look up at us I don't think... Wow.

Glad you are in the 60 day club, with the holidays it will go by even faster for you!!

Thanks Oh well! My band is a wrap of my engagement ring, so I had to show that it was all 1 ring now. So its a big ring...oh well now its all behind us and hopefully these 60 days go by uneventful.
