    How do you prove to the trustee what your payments are

    I know there's a means form to fill out, but do you bring bills or a rental agreement to prove what you have actually going out? I'm federal and not sure what my means test can have left over, but I'm concerned that we're going to have too much left over in the end. New to this so I haven't a clue on any of it yet as I'm still making payments to the lawyer and haven't gotten this far yet.
    Thanks everyone!

    Your trustee assumes that all of the information on your forms is correct because you swear to it under oath during your 341 meeting.

    Only when there's some suspicion about your expenses being too high for your area or that you filed 'in bad faith' that the trustee may ask you to produce proof verifying the items in question (cancelled checks, receipts, etc).
    I am not a lawyer and this is not legal advice nor a statement of the law - only a lawyer can provide those.

        Ou 341 is on December 4th, and we received a form letter a couple of weeks ago requesting 2 pay periods of paystubs, 3 months of bank statements, copies of titles or registrations for vehicles, and two forms to sign, one stating we would give up our tax refund and one asking if our parents were alive, if we expected an inheritance, etc. THis is how, in this district, the trustee can get a sense of how right on you put your expenses. Like Lprn said, they can ask for more info any time they want between filing and the 60 days.
        Filed CH7 - 10/13/05;
        341 Meetings: 11/28/05, 3/20/06, 12/4/07 (3d time's a charm!)
        Converted: 2/15/06 (to CH13), 10/15/07 (Back to CH7)
        DISCHARGED: 2/15/08
