I hope I am not repeating an earlier question but I searched for one part and found nothing.
1. Most importantly can a creditor take an ACF account (something similar to a in trust for a minor account that is in my mother's name but is in trust for me)?
2. Is it legal for a creditor to only take money from me if 3 people are listed as defendants?
3. I have a couple of weeks to respond to a lawsuit by a creditor and I am wondering if there is some way to convince the judge to split the debt 3 ways?
4. What if I can't pay my rent and expenses if they garnish my wages? Especially troubling - because I am the only one currently working of the three people. Also are my wages completely exempt from garnishment - there is this clause in the paperwork "60 x Minimum Hourly Wage or 75% of Disposable Earnings" in which I can choose which one to use for a bi weekly garnishment. I currently make less than 60x min. state hourly wage bi weekly. Can I be completely exempt?
5. Also can they seize my car? The debt is unsecured...
I live in Colorado but some of my accounts are in other states. It isn't a huge debt (only 1600 or so but we are all in school and not working real jobs)
Edit: do they have permissible reason to look at my credit report without my permission?
