All the past addresses on the credit report, and one recent one I never had!

I have a lot of past addresses on my report. Will they get rid of them and just keep my current one?

Also, there was recently an address added that is actually the address of a Regions Bank main office in Hoover AL. I did BK an overdrafy account with them, but what the heck is that doing on there? I tried to dispute it online with experian and the likes and I couldn't. They said they use addresses from creditors, blah, blah.

I'm concerned about this because aren't those addresses used for marketing purposes? For example, sending credit card offers, etc. This could be an identity theft just waiting to happen.

Getting rid of past addresses is a major PITA. I have lived where i currently live now for over 5 years - but the three CRAs still list my old addresses dating back to 1985 - 22 years ago. When I tried to remove the old ones - they refused - mumbling something to the effect that addresses are public agency entries and addresses provided by creditors.
Don't really worry about potential ID theft issues. Those credit card offers just contain your name - but not SS numbers.

i just did an online dispute with equifax. They said it was only difficult to change current address, if you wanted to change that you had to send proof. There was one I had never lived at and they removed it within 24 hours of receiving my dispute.
