    Hmmmm......

When I received my discharge notice in the mail, it was simply a piece of paper saying my BK was discharged. Should I have gotten a list of the creditors included in the BK? How am I to know if everything that should have been listed was actually listed? I am concerned because I gave my attorney a whole list of creditors which he was to add to my BK petition. I gave him the list after I checked the initial petition and he said they would be added before the filing. How do I know if he really added them? I thought there should be a list of what was discharged along with the discharge paper.

You would need to get a copy of your Schedule of Creditors that was filed with the BK court. Also, most attorney's have you read the final petition before it is filed...did you read the petition before it was filed?

Did I read the final petition before it was filed? :o No. I gave my attorney a list of creditors which were not on my credit report and he said he would add them. He didn't send me a copy of the updated petition to sign. I assumed he put the list of creditors on my petition before he filed it. I hope he added them.

The trustee asked us up front, "did you read your petition and is everything in it correct and complete to the best of your knowledge".

You really should get a copy from your lawyer and read it over. Rather safe than sorry.
