    general question

I'm so glad to find this forum. Everyone speaks of BK like it's the Black Plague. It's nice to find people that can relate without judging. I'm hoping someone can offer some advice. My wife and
I made the final payment to our attorney today (we're so ready to get this over with). The problem we're having is this. We turned in 1 of our vehicles and reaffirmed one loan. Since we've started the process my wife has become employed and we are in need of a car. Even w/ a co-signer our credit is so jacked up no one will talk to us, and we'll have to wait a few months after discharge. Does anyone have any advice on how to procure a vehicle?

I would hesitate to go to an auto dealer-- they jack up the interest rate.

Goodwill or salvation army or other charitable organizations sell re-furbished cars.

Auto auctions are all over. You need the money up front though.

Government auctions. (You might find yourself a neat mail truck) or used cop car.

Private owners sell their cars on craigslist, or other on-line sites. Check the thrifty nickle. Check College newspapers! People who post ads in college newspapers usually know that students who have little money are buying from them. Many times the people are not scammers also. Grocery store, Church bulletins.

eBay? Well, check if someone is selling something locally. You may find a deal.

Ask friends and relatives if anyone is selling a car. You never know.
