I have been fighting with all them to correct the dates we filed BK to no avail. Also been fighting with them about a foreclosure from GMAC that was listed as a new item as of dec 2007 now our house did foreclose but we were not with GMAC and the company we were with foreclosed in march 2007 and they have it listed correctly on our report as IIB not a word of foreclosure. Going thru this has made me research In July GMAC purchased the house from old company and GMAC listed owners as us so then they started the foreclosure process by the way it is still not complete so now we have two mortages listed on report and a bk which is terrible for score especially one being a forclosure to no avail have I been able to get this corrected. So I have been thinking of Suing all CRA's and GMAC. The reason for adding the cra's is that they are private companies who basically really don't take the time to correct or verify items. I sent in a dispute and within 7 days got a letter in mail saying my BK was verified and would stay the same. Had they sent to the court they would have had the correct information. any ideas or do anyone think I am the right path?

Can you redispute as "listed twice" on the credit report? I lucked out on this one as Citi mortgage bought out my company during my foreclosure. Citi was awful for a while and had us listed as 75,000 in past due payments on my credit report. When I filed my chapter 13, they filed a claim against it for that 75000 (which was discharged in my chapter 7 in 01 as we walked away at that time) I objected to the claim and it was withdrawn. Then I wrote them a letter citing specific parts of the FCRA and told them I would pursue if they didn't fix it on the credit report. Voila, it disappeared and has not reappeared now. So writing a RRR letter might help too? GL

Try the "duplicate tradeline" approach since both of those items are connected and the GMAC one should be removed. I would also copy both GMAC and the original lender on the dispute (send a copy to their Legal Dept. and/or the President's office - you can find their main corporate office address online).
You just need to keep at it until you can get it resolved. Sometimes it takes a while._________________________________________
