hi i am thinking of claiming bankruptcy.i am on debt management program.i broke up with my boyfriend and am left with other credit card debt..my question is when i stop paying my credit cards do i cancel my debt program to and not pay them no more either??? :confused:

Yes, after you are certain that you will be filing, you should stop making payments. IF the debt program includes payments on secured debt (and you want to keep those things that are secured after BK- like your mortgage or car), government ordered support or gov't student loans.. you should keep paying those. Don't tell the creditors you are filing until you actually file the papers!
