    Scores, and how they relate???

This may be a strange question but is there a source that one can find some type of scale as to what you can expect in relation to your credit score? For example... obtaining my score and determine where I am on the credit worthiness scale with a particular creditor?

I was discharged in May, 2007. I want to obtain new credit, but only to reestablish my credit worthiness. I don't want an inquiry on my report unless I'm pretty certain I'll get approved.

    Does that make any sense?

One other thing... My primary goal is to get myself where I can refinance my home loan and get out of this awful loan I have with Citi (formerly it was with Ameriquest and was bought out). But, I want to wait until I can be relatively assured that I can qualify for a much better interest rate.

There are a lot of ways to get your credit report online. Even if it says its free there is always some kind of recurring fee.

      experian.com
      freecreditreport.com

below a 600 is bad credit 620 to 700 is fair sometimes 680 can be considered good, but really depends on what else is showing on your report, like late payments etc.

Me personally, I went to myfico.com and purchsed Suze Orman's Fico Kit. You can get a copy of all three credit reports, it somewhat helps you with disputing items on your report. It gives you your fico score and what you should expect to pay for an interest rate. Not cheap, but I have been satisfied.
