Foreclosure and deficiency judgement before BK

State: Pennsylvania--which IS a deficiency state.

My question is--if you are foreclosed upon, but cannot file BK at that point in time, and then you are sued for the deficiency, can filing for BK after the fact remove the deficiency? How hard is this to do when filing ch7 in PA BK court.

Also, an aside, there has been some confusion while I've been reading that BK and FC can be considered 1 event if you surrender the house in BK--but other conflicting info states it IS 2 seperate events, because bank must then foreclose, and that foreclosure doesn't appear until after the sale, which can take months depending on where you live. Can anyone clarify this?

And, if just an FC were to appear on your credit rpt, meaning you did not file BK--how long does that remain on there?
