    amendments to schedules

    I just read that one of the fraud flags that the UST looks for is multiple amendments to schedules and statements. Im doomed. Long story short, we filed an emergency filing after being served writ of garneshment. I wanted to get the process started ASAP as I work for a small company and wanted to avoid the garneshment alltogether along with eliminatine the water cooler rumors. We consulted with an attorney, and the cost is beyond our relm. So...pro se it is! I have been honest with everything, but filed in a rush. Undereducated and perplexed, I filed, and now after doing my research I have amended documents 3 times! (all different each time) Is there a glimmer of hope that the UST will have compassion since I am pro se and am trying to do the "right thing."

    You will be fine. Amend the documents. Honestly, I have not heard of or seen a UST make an issue out of too many amendments.

    So long as you are being honest, you will have nothing to worry about.

      I agree with HHM. I am pro se, and while we had issues that werre not really our fault, we had to amend schedules I and J a few times, and that was not why the UST picked on us
      Filed CH7 - 10/13/05;
      341 Meetings: 11/28/05, 3/20/06, 12/4/07 (3d time's a charm!)
      Converted: 2/15/06 (to CH13), 10/15/07 (Back to CH7)
      DISCHARGED: 2/15/08

        I dont really have any suggestions for you, but wanted to let you know that I am in the exact same situation as you are. I was served with a writ of garnishment and I am going to do an emergancy file pro se (could not afford the attorney either). Sometimes its just nice to meet someone in the exact same situation that I am in.

          I think what I am worried about is the fact that we must have already been red flagged by the UST, because we had to send them tons of docs that they requested. It stated in the letter that they sent that this was seperate from our case trustee, and they only gave us 10 days to get everything to them. That was initially what caught our attention, and we noticed that a lot of the documents were wrong. We used software that we downloaded online, and they plugged numbers in some places that they shouldnt have been (such as income from schedule I was also plugged in income from the means test, and those numbers are very different) we filed in a rush, and although I looked everything over, I guess I wasnt paying enough attention, or I just hadnt got my head to stop spinning yet. Anyhow, I am worried that the amendments are going to make it look like we were not being honest initially. Everything is ABSOLUTELY verifiable...if we make it that far!
