    Income Taxes

Well, I'm a newbie to this site. A newbie to Chapter 13, too. I've been in it for 9 months. 2 years and 3 months to go. It can't go by quick enough!!

As I've been browsing through this helpful forum, I saw a couple of references to income tax, refunds and trustees. When we filed in March for 2004, we called our lawyer and asked if the bankruptcy would affect how we file. The office (very well known in the Chicagoland area) said no. When we went to our accountant (the first year we ever went to one), we also told him about the bankruptcy and asked if that would change anything about the way things are filed. He said no.

We were never told to send the trustee a copy of our completed tax return. Does the trustee's office pull it on their own? We also had a refund of about $600 (which we wanted to put in savings but had to use on an unexpected expense).

I guess I'm wondering what I should do next. Call the trustee about this? Send our completed tax returns? Call the lawyer again? Any tips will be helpful.

Okay, I guess I will answer my own question.

I used the search function on the forum (i know, i should have used that in the first place) and saw that I would be an idiot to offer the trustee more money unless notified that I owe something.

I guess I did the right thing by calling my lawyer first. I need to chill a bit and just take their word for it.

    Signed,

    Ms. Paranoid ;)
