If I have many credit cards with large amounts and some with zero balance will I get to keep those cards and continue using them or will all my credit be stripped from me even though I am not claiming it all?

Whether credit cards with zero balances stay open after you file BK is up to the lender. Some creditors, once they find out you have filed BK, will close your account
(AMEX is a prime example of a creditor that will close an account even if they were not included in the BK), and some wont. And yes, they find out pretty quick, nearly all creditors with whom you have an account do a monthly credit pull for routine audits and marketing purposes.
