Added users in Credit Cards, need help

Let's say my father gives me a credit card with my name on it, but in actuality it is his account.

Does it go on my credit record? Can it be traced that my name was actually on the card if my dad files for bk?

    thanks!

You are describing being an authorized user on your father's credit card. Up until recently positive payment activity on a credit card went on the authorized user's credit report as well as the card's owner, but Fair Issac just stopped that practice recently.

When a card owner files bk, it does not affect authorized users. Authorized users should check their credit reports to make certain and if they see IIB on their record for an authorized user card, dispute it immediately in writing sent return receipt as "not mine".
I am not a lawyer and this is not legal advice nor a statement of the law - only a lawyer can provide those.
