Can I just think out loud a bit here?

I have been so overwhelmed, sick, depressed, and was suicidal over all of our financial problems - coming here has helped tremendously just knowing that other people have been there and are OK, know what I mean?
Is there a site someone can link me to that will tell me what bills are taken into consideration when deciding to file ch7 or 13?
I made a list of our bills without all the credit cards and the timeshare. We are already paying more out than what is coming in (even if ALL the credit card debt was gone!!) I made a list of the bills and our income with me working and a list of the bills and income without me working. With me working our income is only $1100 more, but we are then paying $500 for daycare, $240 for gas, and ? for business type clothes. What types of things do people give up after bankruptcy? I am all for giving up the cell phone and the cable - however, my husband thinks we need cell phones in case of emergency since we do not have a house phone. I can give up the internet too, however, that has been my therapy (I do digital scrapbooking, sell on ebay, and have joined several photography groups in hopes of someday making money at it - I have also made lots of friends which is cheaper than antidepressants, right?) UUghh, I am just frustrated because even if we do file bankruptcy we STILL pay more in bills than we make. How do people do it?? Our biggest payments are our house and gas money to go to work - a closer job is not to be found for my hubby so that won't work. We prob can't refinance as we have no equity - maybe just give that up? Where I live though it is almost just as much to rent!
Sorry this is so bloggy, but if anyone has any thoughts, suggestions? I would so appreciate it!!

Don't give up or snap; it's not an easy time but you need to get at least three free opinons from bankruptcy attorney's.

You can include your medical bills, credit card bills etc...no taxes or student loans, but you can also include your electric, phone, cable, gas...but if you default on those kind of things, the deposits you will pay once you got rid of those bills will be horrendous....better to just keep them as current as possible...you will need to see if a 7 or 13 is better depending on your situation...you definitely need legal advice.

Out of curiosity, how much is your mortgage? Have you actually priced out rentals? If you decide to hang on to your (I assume broadband) internet, have you looked into voIP phone providers? Can you get away with a prepaid cell?

People have to give up whatever extras are necessary to make ends meet. Hopefully income will increase enough to allow for some extras. My wife and I have just filed, and are in the process of evaluating our material needs vs wants in an effort to never rely on credit again (other than an auto or mortgage loan) AND to start putting as much money as possible away for our next house.

Well, fortunately we are not behind on any payments yet - will be though if we don't do something soon - our payments have been late the last few months though. I don't think there are even 3 bankruptcy attorneys in my area - it is bad enough I will have to drive an hour and a half to see the one that I have heard of

Our mortgage is $835 because hubby did not get a fixed rate - it was only $550 when he bought it! I just want to give it up, but he doesn't. There really aren't many places where I live to rent. I am sorry, what is voIP phone providers? (where I have to have a phone line?) I do not want a home phone at all - I do not want people calling me. We did the prepaid thing before (it was a tracphone?) and it was a pain, but definitely an idea - we will do what we have to do.
Other than a house payment I do not want to rely on credit again either - our vehicles are all paid for - that is if we can keep them?
