    Got our new wheels!

After weeks of searching, test-driving, applying for and receiving approvals for financing, I can report that TODAY we drove off the lot in our new (USED!) vehicle. Due to my DH's height, we decided on a large SUV, a Ford Expedition. It's an Eddie Bauer, loaded to the gills...comfy for our family trips, albeit a gas hog! It's gorgeous...a 2004 with only 35,000 miles...one owner, etc.

We ended up with pretty good financing, I think:
    OTD price: 22,012
    Downpayment: 5K
Financed through Chase @ 9.5% for 60 mos
    Payments: 419/mo

Just thought I'd share our post-BK car-buying experience, too:
Chapter 7, no asset-about 40K in debt (mostly CC, but also an IRS tax debt!)
    Discharged 8/07
    Still cleaning up CRs

Oh, and BTW...we discharged about 8K with Chase (credit card) in our BK, and our mortgage (which we did NOT reaffirm) is with them (it's current). My husband did have a previous car loan with them that was paid in full, though.

    That is great news.

But I have to ask...(the numbers are not adding up)

If the OTD was 22,012, and you put $5K down, that means you financed $17,012...that amount, financed at 9.5% @ 60mos should give you a payment of around $357 per month.

Your current mortgage with Chase and your hubby's previous paid in full on time car loan through Chase helped you get the financing. Best of luck to you with your new vehicle and congrats!
