Declaration of Homestead

Anyone ever file a Declaration of Homestead on their own (as opposed to having an attorney do it)? Our attorney wants $150 to do it (plus the recording fee of $35). The form looks pretty straightforward, and it almost seems like a waste of money to have an attorney do it
