What I do with house?

Just filed BK7 (Had 314 end of March)

We gave up our house in the BK7 - (we have since moved and now live in a rental)

I asked my atty what happens with the house. He said the mortgage company still has to go through the normal foreclosure proceedings.....

Is their anyway to get the house out of our name quicker?

We just want it off our backs......Or should we not worry about the house (the grass is growing long, the house looks bad...ect...)

I tried and tried and tried to get Countrywide to do a died in lieu of foreclosure. They wouldnt discuss it, they insist on letting it go thru the process..

Are we still legally liable for the house or anything that could occur to it while it's vacant?

I guess what I am getting at is what if someone broke into the property and broke their leg and then tried to sue me? Or some kid trips on our lawn and gets hurt? Or whatever?

Well, strictly speaking, you are supposed to maintain insurance until the house is legally out of your name.
